For Universities, Research Centers, NGOs & Foundations
Scope and Research Orientation
Our activity develops at the intersection of legal practice, academic research and strategic policy design, with a specialised focus on cultural identity, city diplomacy and the governance of narratives within international and multi-level institutional environments. We collaborate with universities, research centres, NGOs, foundations and multidisciplinary consortia interested in examining how sub-state actors, territorial communities and institutional systems position themselves in global contexts shaped by complexity and interdependence.
Our research engagement explores how legal structures, governance models and narrative ecosystems interact in shaping legitimacy, reputation and strategic capacity. Particular attention is devoted to the evolving role of cities, regions and local authorities in international relations, where diplomatic engagement increasingly operates beyond traditional state-centric paradigms.
City Diplomacy and Narrative Governance
City diplomacy constitutes a central research dimension within our collaborative framework. As urban and regional actors assume more prominent roles in international cooperation, economic positioning and cultural exchange, questions of identity representation, soft power and institutional credibility acquire structural relevance. Narrative governance becomes a key analytical lens through which to understand how territories construct legitimacy, manage reputational risk and influence transnational networks.
Within this broader comparative framework, territorial case studies—including Sicily—may serve as analytical laboratories for examining the interaction between historical legacy, governance capacity and international positioning. However, the methodological approach remains transferable across jurisdictions and adaptable to diverse territorial contexts.
Methodological Framework
Collaborative research integrates legal analysis, institutional theory and qualitative System Dynamics (SD) modelling. Qualitative SD enables the mapping of interdependencies, feedback loops and structural drivers underlying governance and narrative processes in multi-level systems. This systemic perspective supports the study of complex institutional environments where legal, political, economic and cultural variables interact dynamically.
By combining normative legal analysis with systemic modelling and empirical inquiry, projects are designed to generate academically robust outputs while maintaining policy relevance. The objective is to bridge theoretical investigation and governance innovation, ensuring that research findings can inform institutional design, diplomatic strategy and regulatory adaptation.
European and International Research Cooperation
We are available to contribute to multidisciplinary research initiatives at national and international level, including projects developed within European funding frameworks such as Horizon Europe, Jean Monnet Actions, Creative Europe, Erasmus+ cooperation schemes and cross-border programmes. Our contribution may involve conceptual co-design, integration of legal and governance dimensions, development of impact pathways and structured dissemination strategies that connect academic research with institutional stakeholders.
Research cooperation is conceived as a long-term intellectual partnership capable of producing peer-reviewed outputs alongside measurable institutional and societal impact.
Bridging Research, Governance and Global Positioning
A distinctive dimension of our collaboration model lies in its capacity to connect academic environments with governance systems and transnational networks. Operating between research institutions, public authorities and narrative ecosystems, we contribute to transforming scholarly inquiry into structured policy recommendations, diplomatic frameworks and strategic positioning tools.
Partnerships are grounded in transparency, shared intellectual contribution and methodological integrity. Collaborative formats may be structured flexibly—remote, hybrid or on-site—according to institutional needs and project design. Across all initiatives, emphasis is placed on analytical depth, systemic coherence and long-term strategic value.
We welcome dialogue with universities, research centres, NGOs and foundations interested in advancing research and applied initiatives related to city diplomacy, governance innovation, cultural identity and narrative impact in complex international environments.
